La Fête de la Musique organisée le 21 juin 2003 par le Centre culturel français (CCF) de Gaza (http://www.consulfrance-jerusalem.org/spip.php?article286) constitua la première expérience d’un vrai concert public pour les groupes rap gazaouis. De manière générale, le rôle du CCF aura été essentiel dans l’ouverture au monde des jeunes artistes du territoire. Le CCF, en effet, est actif à Gaza depuis la première intifada. D'abord hébergé dans les locaux de la Young Christian Men’s Association (YMCA), il s’installe ensuite dans un bâtiment dédié situé dans le quartier de Rimâl. Le British Council, ouvert quelques années après le CCF, a fermé ses portes en 2006 et n'a rouvert qu'une dizaine d'années plus tard ; le Goethe Institut n’a longtemps eu qu’une antenne-relais (Goethepunkt) au sein de la bibliothèque municipale avant d'être hébergé par le CCF.
La Fête s'inscrit dans les actions culturelles du Consulat général de France à Jérusalem menées avec l'aide de l'Association française d'action artistique (AFAA), ancêtre de l'actuel Institut français (http://www.institutfrancais.com/) opérateur de l’action culturelle extérieure de la France sous l'égide du ministère des Affaires étrangères et européennes. Elle est organisée en coopération avec le ministère palestinien de la Culture et les institutions locales. Au début des années 2000, le Consulat avait souhaité répondre à ce qu'il avait perçu en termes d'attentes des publics des principaux centres urbains et de besoins d'échanges de la part des artistes palestiniens. Parmi d'autres, un projet concernant les expériences musicales innovantes avait été lancé en 2002 dans le cadre d'un programme "Génération musique" décidé par l'AFAA à Alexandrie. Ce programme visait à promouvoir la scène française tout en favorisant les échanges entre artistes français et artistes des divers pays du Maghreb et du Moyen-Orient à travers des concerts, des ateliers et des résidences d’écriture et de création. L'appropriation progressive de la Fête par les institutions palestiniennes en assura la réussite. La Fête de la musique édition 2003 rassembla ainsi près de 400 personnes à Gaza pour un concert où les premiers groupes de rap gazaouis purent se montrer. Elle fut suivie en octobre d'une tournée de la compagnie bordelaise de hip-hop dirigée par Hamid Ben Mahi Hors série (http://horsserie.org/). L'édition 2004 remplit le théâtre Nawras (600 personnes) avec une première partie vouée à la musique orientale classique et la seconde au hip-hop. Elle avait été précédée en mars par la venue du montpelliérain d'origine libanaise Clotaire K (http://www.clotairek.com/) qui avait rappé en arabe, français et anglais. L'entrée à Gaza en septembre d'Accrorap, la compagnie fondée à Lyon par Kader Attou, en revanche, fut empêchée par les autorités israéliennes. L'édition 2005, quant à elle, fut précédée d'une résidence du rappeur franco-algérien Naili, un "Naili Orient Express Tour" au cours duquel il organisa des ateliers de formation qui débouchèrent sur la participation de cinq groupes gazaouis au grand concert de la Fête de la musique. Le 21 juin 2005, il rassembla au centre Rachchâd Shawâ plus de 1 000 personnes. En décembre 2006, Naili et six de ses compagnons revinrent à Gaza et y organisèrent à nouveau des ateliers sur l’écriture hip-hop, sur la danse et la musique assistée par ordinateur (DJ).
Les conditions sécuritaires ont ensuite rendu l'organisation des Fêtes de la musique à Gaza aléatoire. L'édition 2007, par exemple, ne put se tenir du fait des combats entre Hamas et Fath et le groupe lillois Ministère des affaires populaires (MAP) (http://www.map-site.fr/) dut se contenter de la Cisjordanie (ils se produiront à Gaza en avril 2008) (http://mapalestine.canalblog.com/) de même que R-wan, l’ex-chanteur du groupe Java. En octobre 2007, en revanche, la Nuit blanche, organisée en coopération avec la Mairie de Paris, fut l'occasion pour Gaza Teamde se produire comme pour SBRet D.F.A -The Palestinian Break Dance (http://www.myspace.com/dfadupalestaine) parmi une vingtaine d’artistes locaux appelés à présenter leurs créations sous différentes formes : tableaux, installations, sculptures et vidéo-art devant quelque 600 personnes. La Nuit blanche de 2009 fut à nouveau l'occasion pour les groupes rap gazaouis de se produire mais des pressions exercées à leur encontre de la part des autorités et/ou le contexte sécuritaire tendu ont ensuite conduit à diverses annulations ou réductions de programme. En juin 2012, néanmoins, Palestinian Unit se produit au CCF. Le CCF ferme en 2014 suite à une tentative d'attentat et n'a rouvert qu'en 2017.
Le premier concours de hip-hop et de rap tenu à Gaza est organisé le 27 novembre 2008 au centre Shawâ dans le cadre d'une "International Palestinian Campaign to End the Siege on Gaza". From the heart of Gaza a sound of hope. Performers from Gaza will gather to tell their stories in songs and music calling for better life for Palestinians who have been suffering for years and stereotyped in media.
Gaza Concert is an event bringing inspiration for many Gazan singers who are eager to speak out and tell their stories by singing and music. The event aims to bring upon musicians and singers from different parts of Palestine to sing for unity, peace and justice. In spite of all the sufferings, the hopeful event aims to revive the Palestinian spirit by music from Gaza to the whole world.
Recently, all life sectors in the Gaza Strip have been negatively affected by the unjust siege imposed on civilians. Life is worsening day by day in the Gaza Strip affecting children, women and old men. They have one dream to have a decent life after ending the siege on Gaza.
Palestinians are looking for a just solution and for a way out of the despair they have been living in for years. Not only siege is the problem, but the violence which is taking place and taking hope away is bigger obstacle.
Even though, Palestinian talented singers and musicians are uniting together in Gaza to make a unique musical concert to sing for Gaza and for peace. Participants want to bring hope back to children and draw smiles on their faces after the hard times they have passed through after losing their dear family members, friends and even their homes.

وفي الآونة الأخيرة ، وجميع قطاعات الحياة في قطاع غزة قد تأثرت سلبيا من جراء الحصار الظالم المفروض على المدنيين. الحياة تزداد سوءا يوما بعد يوم في قطاع غزة التي تؤثر على الأطفال والنساء والرجال المسنين. لقد حلم واحد ليكون له حياة كريمة بعد انهاء الحصار المفروض على قطاع غزة.
الفلسطينيون يبحثون عن حل عادل وعن طريقة للخروج من اليأس وظلوا يعيشون في لسنوات. الحصار ليس فقط هو المشكلة ، ولكن أعمال العنف التي تجري بعيدا وأخذ الأمل هو اكبر عقبة.
على الرغم من الفلسطينيين الموهوبين والمغنين والموسيقيين هي التي توحد معا في غزة لتقديم الحفل الموسيقي فريدة في الغناء لغزة وللسلام. المشاركون يريدون لتحقيق الأمل في العودة إلى الأطفال ، ووضع الابتسامات على وجوههم بعد الأوقات الصعبة التي مرت بعد فقدان العزيز أفراد الأسرة والأصدقاء وحتى منازلهم.

מתוך הלב של עזה יבוא צליל של תקווה. מוסיקאים מעזה יהיו יחד כדי לספר את הסיפורים שלהם בשירים ובמוסיקה הקוראת לחיים טובים יותר עבור פלסטינים שסבלו במשך שנים והיו stereotyped בתקשורת.
קונצרט עזה הוא אירוע העשוי להביא השראה להרבה זמרים מעזה שמאוד רוצים לדבר ולספר את סיפוריהם על ידי שיר ומוסיקה. האירוע יישטף מוסיקאים וזמרים מחלקים שונים של פלסטין כדי לשיר לאחדות, למען השלום והצדק. למרות כל הסבל האירוע של תקווה שואף להחיות את הרוח הפלסטיני עם מוסיקה מעזה על כל העולם.
לאחרונה כל מגזרי החיים ברצועה היו מושפעים לרעה על ידי המצור שהוטל על האזרחים. החיים של רצועת עזה מחמירים מיום ליום, אם השפעה על הילדים, הנשים והקשישים.
יש להם חלום אחד: לחיות חיים הגונים לאחר סיום המצור על עזה. הפלסטינים מחפשים פתרון צודק, ודרך לצאת מהייאוש שהם חיו בתוכו במשך שנים. לא רק המצור הוא הבעיה, אבל האלימות המתרחשת ולוקחת את התקווה היא מכשול גדול יותר.

En 2008-2009, le Danish Centre for Culture and Development (http://www.dccd.dk/en/culture-and-development-aid/culture-strategy-palestine/) de Ramallah, en collaboration avec la Sabreen Association for Artistic Development (http://www.sabreen.org/) de Ramallah, a entrepris un programme de soutien au hip hop palestinien qui a culminé avec le HipHopKom (هيب هوبكم) organisé sous le slogan ‘Break Down the Barriers with Your Words’. Le Hip Hop Kom bénéficie alors d'un accès au site "Hip Hop Production File" (http://www.hiphopf.net/) mais il ne reste plus trace de l'événement, la Wayback machine ayant ignoré l'URL dédiée. L'événement s'est tenu le 18 juin 2009 à la fois à Ramallah, au théâtre al-Kassaba, et à Gaza, au siège du Croissant rouge, en liaison satellitaire. L'opération a mobilisé depuis le Danemark des artistes comme l'égypto-danois MC Zaki (beat-boxer), le palestino-danois MC Marwan, l'actrice et écrivaine
Khadije Nasser ou encore le break dancer chanteur Wahid Mahmoud, mobilisant des artistes européens et américains. Sur la cinquantaine de groupes et de solistes qui ont participé aux éliminatoires, 15 ont pu accéder à la finale dont 5 de Gaza (vraisemblablement les Palestinian Rappers, DARG Team, Black Unit Band, Peace Team, et MC Walid (Walîd al-Madhûn-وليد المدهون)). Le jury international incluait la rappeuse palestinienne de Londres Shadia Mansour, MC Zaki du Danemark, Mazzi du groupe new-yorkais S.O.U.L. Purpose, et Suhayl Nafar de DAM. La représentation put se tenir en dépit d'une intervention tardive de la police qui ferma le théâtre. PALESTINE'S FIRST NATIONAL TALENT RAP CONTEST
SABREEN ASSOCIATION & PALESTINIAN BROADCAST COOPERATION
(May/June 2009) "HipHopKom" is Palestine's first national rap contest and climax of the previous held training courses and Hip Hop promoting events as part of Project Hip Hop Palestine. Rappers and Hip Hop fans all over Palestine are now waiting to prove their talents to Palestine.
TV Broadcast
The contest is based on the concepts of "Star Academy" and MTV' Arabia's "HipHopna" and is a national contest, which will take place as an open public show and broadcasted on TV.
A locally based film crew in WB and Gaza will follow the event outline and document the development of the day. This will be broadcasted live from the venue and projected in the Gaza and Ramallah venues.
The event will be broadcasted on PBC 36 local tv stations, the satellite channel Palestine TV and the local radio network.
The narration of the contest
14 Palestinian groups/artists selected by a jury in two prior auditions in the WB and Gaza will perform live on TV presenting their contribution to the rap contest.
Based on prior advertisement Palestinian rappers residing in '48 and the WB will be invited to participate in an audition for the contest. 10 participants will be selected by the jury from the WB audition out of an estimated number of 200 participants. A second audition might be arranged according to the number of registered rappers.
All of the rappers of the Gaza Strip will be invited to participate in a closed audition for the contest. It is assumed that rappers from 12 Hip Hop groups will join the audition. A jury of two persons will assess the performance of all artists and select a maximum of 4 persons to participate in the final contest.
In case no foreign artists can enter Gaza Sabreen organizes an audition in Gaza and transmits the audition to Ramallah where the whole jury resides. There would be no training program for the Gazans, only in Ramallah. The 4 selected talents form Gaza would perform in the Ramallah contest via a satellite transmission.
The jury of the contest
The jury, consisting of Shadia Mansour - British-Palestinian rapper, "Zaki" Danish-Egyptian rapper, Mazzi - Iranian-American rapper and breakdancer will give their critique and assessment of the contributions together with the local rap pioneers Saz (Ramle) and Dam (Lid).
Between the auditions and the show the selected talents will be invited to undergo training with the jury preparing their performance for the show.
Voting and selection
The show in Gaza will be held in al Hilal theatre in Gaza City and the West Bank show will be held in al Qasaba.
The winner will be chosen via SMS sent in by the television viewers. The show will see live performance by professional rappers.

The winners will be given the opportunity to travel to Denmark and meet and perform with the established Hip Hop scene in July 2009 + record the winning song on a single.

اطلقت مؤسسة صابرين قبل اسبوع اضخم مشروع تدريبي للهيب هوب في فلسطين و ذلك بمساعدة مجموعة من المحترفين الفلسطينيين و فلسطينين من اصل دنماركي و فلسطينيي الداخل ، حيث قاموا بتدريب مجموعة من الشباب في جينين على الراب ، و الكلام المحكي و الرقص و الموسيقى في مسرح الحرية.
و بكلماتهم القوية و حركاتهم المؤثرة ستقدم المجموعة يوم الخميس المقبل اول عرض لها بعد ان انهت برنامج التدريب المخصص. وكما سيقدم المدربين عرضاً خاصاً بهم بعد ذلك لينتهي البرنامج في جنين باختيار اثنين من المتدربين المؤهلين للمشاركة بالمخيم الاخير اللذي سيجمع المحترفين المؤهلين في مدينة رام الله بين التاسع و الرابع عشر من شهر اب.
هذا و ترحب مؤسسة صابرين بأي صحافيين مهتمين بتغطية المشروع و فعالياته اما بالتغطية الإخبارية وكتابة التقارير أو الأفلام الوثائقية.

Par ailleurs, dans la foulée du HipHopKom où il avait gagné la première place, DARG Team a entretenu des liens avec le Danemark en vue de la production d’un CD, certains des membres du groupe y résidant pour de plus ou moins longues périodes.
Dans la foulée de la fermeture du SAC aux activités duquel l’un de ses membres avait été concerné, l’ONG danoise Rapolitics (http://www.rapolitics.org/) a travaillé en 2011 à associer des rappeurs de Gaza (http://www.rapolitics.org/portfolio/raptivists-from-gaza/) à son projet « Bokra » (http://www.rapolitics.org/portfolio/rapolitics-bokra-in-jordan/).
Resaletna Competition (Norvège, Gaza, décembre 2009)
Sous le slogan Resaletna ("Notre message"), un concours rap se tint le 21 décembre 2009 au Croissant Rouge de Gaza en coopération entre la municipalité de Gaza et la cité norvégienne de Tromsø. Ce titre renvoyait peut-être au classique "The Message", écrit et chanté par l'américain Grandmaster Flash en 1979, dont la virulence contre le pouvoir et ses symboles a entraîné une certaine politisation du rap proche encore à l'époque d'un certain hédonisme. Le concours se tint en duplex entre la Croissant rouge de Gaza et la House of Rock de Tromsø. Un site internet fut créé avec "Vennskap Tromsø - Gaza" (http://www.tromso-gaza.no) quand les contributions sont accessibles sur la chaîne de Dahoodsking (http://www.youtube.com/user/DAHOODSKING). Le jury norvégien était constitué de l'artiste de hip-hop norvégienne Lars Sandnes "Poppa-Lars" de Tungtvann et de Fredrik Forssman, le directeur de la House of Rock. L'organisateur du concours à Gaza était une femme, Nour Afana, qui, avec son association, coordonnait un ensemble de workshops en coopération avec des Norvégiens.

Peace Team obtint le première place devant ses six autres compétiteurs.
Plus récemment la Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) (http://www.norad.no/) du ministère norvégien des Affaires étrangères, à travers la Norvegian People’s Aid (http://www.npaid.org/), a établi un partenariat avec l’Institute for Development Studies (IDS) (معهد دراسات التنمية) de Gaza pour la période 2012-2015 et la mise en place d’un programme baptisé "Youth of today, leaders of tomorrow" (مشروع شباب اليوم قادة الغد) destiné à "Enhancing youth opportunities in leadership positions for effective participation in national based-decision making". C’est dans ce cadre qu’un groupe comme Intifada Teama pu se produire au centre Shawâ de Gaza en décembre 2011 dans un festival "Opérette de la jeunesse" (أوبريت الشباب) (http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.300200866680209.74267.220736621293301).
Youth of today, leaders of tomorrow

Target group: Youth
Goal: Enhancing youth opportunities in leadership positions for effective participation in national based-decision making
The aim of the project is to make youth agents for change in the Palestinian society. They will have the opportunity to participate effectively in leadership positions, to be involved in decision-making and influence constructively on national decisions. IDS will cooperate with seven political parties, seven universities, 12 youth groups, and 20 youth CBOs in Gaza Strip to provide 260 training hours to enhance the skills, knowledge and attitudes of 55 youth leaders and members of political parties, student blocs, and CBOs. Roundtable discussion and political seminars will be organised between youth leaders and political parties. Youth will implement initiatives that support their ideas to enhance their political participation. After the project completion youth in Gaza will be able to influence decision-makers and put youth issues on the political agenda and be represented in the PLC, the local governorates & political parties.

معهد دراسات التنمية هو مؤسسة فلسطينية مستقلة غير ربحية تأسست في العام 2003 كمبادرة من مجموعة من الناشطين في العمل التنموي الفلسطيني و العمل الأهلي بغرض تطوير سياسات و ممارسات التنمية في المجتمع الفلسطيني و ذلك بدعم كامل من برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي UNDP ويسعى المعهد للوصول إلى موقع ريادي ومصدراً رئيسياً للمعلومات التنموية على المستوى الوطني ،وتطوير منهجيات البحث و العمل الأكاديمي و تعزيز دور المجتمع المدني في صنع وتنفيذ الاستراتيجيات الوطنية للتنمية.
يقوم معهد دراسات التنمية بتنفيذ مشروع ( شباب اليوم ..قادة الغد ) و الذي يهدف إلى تطوير الوعي القانوني لدى الشباب في القطاع بحقوقهم المكفولة لهم و تعزيز التوجهات السلمية للتغيير لدى هؤلاء الشباب من خلال تزويدهم بآليات تغيير قيادية سلمية حديثة تساعدهم على تغيير واقعهم و تعزز من دورهم في تحقيق التنمية و التغيير ، فالمشروع المقترح يقوم على مبدأ التعاون من خلال تشكيل اللجنة الاستشارية و التي تضم المؤسسات المتخصصة في مجال حقوق الشباب و الجامعات الرئيسية بالإضافة إلى تشكيل اللجنة الأهلية لمناصرة حقوق الشباب و التي تضم المؤسسات الشبابية القاعدية و المجموعات الشبابية الناشطة في قضايا الشباب لتنفيذ أنشطة المشروع المختلفة ، كما أن المشروع سيعمل على استخدام وسائل الإعلام المختلفة و توظيف مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي بشكل فعال على نحو يساهم في إحداث نقلة نوعية لدور الإعلام في عملية توعية الشباب بقضاياهم .

PalFest (Gaza, mai 2013)
Inauguré en mai 2008 à un rythme annuel et organisé tant en Cisjordanie qu'en Israël (Haïfa), le PalFest (Palestine Festival of Literature) a tenu l'une de ses sessions à Gaza pour la première fois en 2012. En mai 2013, c'est au tour du hip-hop de s'y produire pour la première (et dernière) fois avec Muhammad al-Sûsî des Revolution Makers, Majd 'Antar de 'Antaraet les Camp Breakers.
The Palestine Festival of Literature (PalFest) was established in 2008 with the aim of showcasing and supporting cultural life in Palestine, breaking the cultural siege imposed on Palestinians by the Israeli military occupation, and strengthening cultural links between Palestine and the rest of the world.
Over the past ten years, PalFest has hosted some 200 authors and industry professionals from around the world. PalFest is a traveling festival. Because Palestinians’ freedom of movement is restricted by the Israeli occupation, the festival crosses military checkpoints to reach its audiences. By day, the international participants meet with artists, authors and activists and take part in politico-historical tours that bring them face to face with the physical realities of life under occupation. By night, they take the stage alongside their Palestinian counterparts for a series of readings, performances, discussions and music. All events are free and open to the public.
We partner with dozens of Palestinian organizations – cultural and educational – to produce an immersive, collaborative festival. We work to reaffirm, in the words of Edward Said, ‘the power of culture over the culture of power.’

Palestine Alternative Music Festival (PAM) et Boombox (Palestine hip-hop Festival) (Bayt Sahûr 2016 - )
Le Palestinian Alternative Music Festival (PAM) est sponsorisé par le groupe "Buzz" (https://www.facebook.com/buzz.bcg/) de Bethléem et vise "to promoting diversity in musical styles amongst arab youth". La première édition se tint à Bayt Sahour le 9 septembre 2016, suivie d'une deuxième le 8 septembre 2017 (étendue à la Jordanie). La troisième est annoncée pour la période du 7 au 21 septembre 2018.

Projet Zouqaq (Gaza, novembre 2016)
Lancé en août 2015 pour 2 ans par la Swedish Postcode Lottery (https://postkodstiftelsen.se/), le projet Zouqaq (http://kulturstiftelsen.se/blog/projekt/zouqaq-jada-grander/) a mobilisé la majorité des rappeurs en activité à Gaza à l'époque. Even though we can only support organizations for a limited period of time, we hope for projects to have long-term effects. Organizations are encouraged at an early stage to formulate a plan to share project results and continue efforts beyond the project’s completion. We believe in sharing results in order to educate others and continue the spread of valuable knowledge and information.

Zouquaq- Jada
In this initiative, young persons that have experiences from immigrating to Sweden, are meeting suburbian Swedes in workshops where they write musical lyrics together. Their texts are then sent to hip hop artists in Sweden and in Gaza, who will make beats to their stories. The process is lead by the Afghan screenwriter and actress Monirah Hashemi and the hip hop artist Khaled Harara. The youth are after this process touring with Riksteatern in Sweden.

To create new and Contemporary stories from young people in Sweden and in Gaza. To give young people an opportunity to meet beyond bordes.
Why we support tis project
This initiative gives unaccompanied minors and young swedes a platform to meet and to create together and the newly arrieved a way into Swedish society.

PALESTINE MUSIC EXPO
Due to the current political conditions, Palestinian artists are struggling to establish their presence on the international music scene. There is little industry to speak of in Palestine, which makes it challenging for promising Palestinian artists to be heard and promoted around the world. So we’re bringing the world to Palestine! The Palestine Music Expo will celebrate Palestine’s unique and powerful culture that is thriving in spite of the Occupation.
The Expo will showcase both established and upcoming Palestinian artists to local audiences and key members of the international music industry. These will include record companies, booking agencies, music supervisors, festivals promoters and Media.
The Expo will bring artists and professionals together, in an effort to build mutually beneficial relationships and develop valuable networking opportunities in Palestine. It will include various music genres and showcase performances over two days with a third day put aside for a little fun exploring. The public and our guests are invited to attend these shows in different Palestinian cities and interact with our artists to gain a greater understanding of our music scene and how we create music in Palestine.
نظرًا للظروف السياسيّة الرّاهنة، يكافح الفنانون/ات الفلسطينيّون/ات من أجل إثبات وجودهم على المشهد الموسيقيّ العالميّ. هناك صناعة موسيقيّة صغيرة بإمكاننا التحدث عنها في فلسطين، والتي تجعل من المسألة صعبة على الفنانين/ات الفلسطينيّين/ات الواعدين بأن يُسمعوا ويُروّجوا في جميع أنحاء العالم. لذلك، نحن نجلب العالم إلى فلسطين! وذلك، يحتفل "معرض الموسيقى الفلسطينيّ الدّولي" في الثقافة الفريدة والقويّة التي تزدهر بالرّغم من الاحتلال.
سوف يستضيف "معرض الموسيقى الفلسطينيّ الدّوليّ" فنانين/ات فلسطينيّين/ات محترفين، بالإضافة إلى عاملين/ات في مشهد صناعة الموسيقى العالميّ؛ من شركات تسجيل موسيقى، وكالات لحجز موسيقيّين/ات للعروض الحيّة، مشرفين موسيقيّين، مسوّقي مهرجانات وإعلاميّين/ات.
يجمع المعرض فنانين/ات ومهنيين/ات سويةً في محاولة لبناء علاقات متبادلة المنفعة وتطوير فرص التشبيك القيّمة في فلسطين فيما بينهم. يضم المعرض أيضًا أنواع موسيقيّة عديدة وسوف يقدّم عروضًا على ثلاثة أيام، بالإضافة إلى حلقات نقاش وورشات عمل.

For the first time ever, The Palestine Music Expo (PMX) is coming to Gaza on 30.3!
PMX management team, in collaboration with Palestinian Performing Arts Network and Edward Said National Conservatory Of Music, are happy to announce that this year we will have showcases in Gaza too, few days before the main event in Ramallah (11th-13th of April).
MC Gaza, Typo, and Watar band - all bands from Gaza who can't attent the showcases in Ramallah due to the siege, will have showcases of their own in the cinema hall of the red crescent society in Gaza.
All the people of Gaza are invited, and entrance is free of charge!
The live showcases will be recorded and broadcasted in PMX 2018, on the main stage in Ramallah afterwards!
The bands taking part on the 30th of March at 19:00 in the Cinema Hall of The Red Crescent In Gaza are:
* MC Gaza:
Ibrahim Ghneim, 26, A.K.A MC Gaza, is a 26 year old rapper from Gaza strip.
He started rapping when he was 13, and has already recorded 80 songs, 2 albums and released 26 video clips. He has also performed hundreds of times in Palestine, The Arab world and Europe.
Due to the siege on Gaza strip, MC Gaza had to do few of his performances through video conferences. He's considered to be one of the most well known rappers in Palestine and articles about him had been published and translated to more than 10 languages.
* Typo:
A rock Band from Gaza. Like its name, "Typo", the project came about back in 2012 by mistake - much like how the world sees Gaza - a "mistake" in the heart of Palestine.
Typo is in indie band. They released their first album in 2016 with the title "First Typo". The album has 8 tracks in it and all songs address the Palestinian reality. The band consists of Muhammad Zahd (lead singer and guitar), Samir Borno (keyboard), Muhammad Baa'lawi (bass) and Islam Shanghan (drums).
* Watar Band:
Founded in 2008, Watar Band started doing music in live shows. The band's music is a fusion between traditional Arabic music and western music, thus creating a sound that's unique to it. The band had participated in a lot of festivals. The band is considered to be popular in Gaza because it was one of the first young bands who ever produced that kind of music. Their first album was released in 2015 under the title: '"Strange In Here", with the support of A. M. Qattan foundation. The band aspires to make it's music known world wide.
Band members are: Nader Hamuda (lead singer), Ahmad Haddad (guitar), Anas Najjar (qanoon & piano), Khamis Abu Shaaban (bass), Muhammad Lumani (guitar), Iyad Abu Leilah (drums), Sameh Abu Leilah (percussion) and Iyad Qasbajli (Coral).

لأول مرة، معرض الموسيقى الفلسطيني جاي على غزة!
يسر ادارة معرض ال (Palestine Music Expo (PMX)، بالتعاون مع شبكة الفنون الادائية ومعهد ادوارد سعيد الوطني للموسيقى ان تعلن عن مهرجان مصغر والذي سيتم عرضه في غزة ايام قليلة قبل المهرجان الكبير في رام الله وذلك لنتيح لاهل غزة ان يكونوا جزءا من هذا الحدث العالمي الضخم.
فرق غزاوية موسيقية رائعة مثل “ام سي غزة"، "تايبو- خطأ مطبعي" و"وترباند" مشاركين هاي السنة ب- PMX وما راح يقدروا يتواجدوا معنا برام الله بسبب الحصار. فقررت ادارة المهرجان بالتعاون مع معهد ادوارد سعيد الوطني للموسيقى على اقامة ليلة عروض خاصة في غزة للفرق المشاركة في قاعة السينما بجمعية الهلال الاحمر الفلسطيني. كل اهلنا في غزة معزومين، والدخول مجاني!
سيتم ايضاً تصوير العروض وبثها على المنصة الكبيرة في رام الله خلال المهرجان الكبير ! وبذلك نتحدى الحصار ونضمن حق الفنانين الغزاويين في ان يعرضوا انتاجهم الفني امام العالم.

26 سنة، رابر فلسطيني من قطاع غزة
بدأ مسيرته نهاية عام 2005 وأنتج أكثر من 80 عمل موسيقي بينهم 2 ألبوم و 26 فيديو كليب وأكثر من 100 عرض على مستوى فلسطين وبعض الدول العربية والاوروبية بعضهم بشكل مباشر وبعضهم عن طريق الفيديو كونفرنس بسبب معيقات التحرك في قطاع غزة، كتبت عنه الصحافة العربية والدولية بأكثر من 10 لغات وعلى أكبر الصحف والقنوات العربية وبعض الوكالات العالمية.
* فرقة وترباند:
فرقة موسيقية تأسست عام 2008، بدأت عملها في مجال العروض الفنية الحية وتجمع الفرقة في أعمالها بين الموسيقى العربية والغربية لتشكل لون خاص بها، شاركت الفرقة في العديد من المهرجانات والفعاليات الفنية على المستوى المحلي أو الدولي ولها شعبية جيدة حيث تعد الفرقة من أوائل الفرق الشبابية في مدينة غزة والتي تقدم عدة ألوان فنية مرغوبة لفئات مختلفة من المجتمع مع مجموعة من الفنانين والموسيقيين المتميزين في الوسط الفني، عام 2015 قامت الفرقة بإصدار ألبومها الموسيقي الاول "غريب هنا" بدعم من مؤسسة عبدالمحسن القطان، حيث كانت التجربة الاولى لفرقة من غزة انتاج ألبوم موسيقي غنائي كامل، وتطمح الفرقة بالتوسع في اعمالها الفنية ونشر هويتها الفلسطينية في أرجاء مختلفة من العالم. أعضاء الفرقة: نادر حمودة (مغني)، احمد حداد (مغني/ كلاسيك جيتار)، انس نجار (قانون وبيانو)، خميس ابو شعبان (باص جيتار)، محمد اللوماني (الكتريك جيتار)، اياد ابو ليلة (درامز)، سامح ابو ليلة (ايقاع)، اياد القصبلجي (كورال)

فرقة موسيقى مستقلة تعزف موسيقة الروك بكل اشكاله. ولدت في فبراير 2012 بالصدفة و عن طريق الخطأ في نص غزة التي أصبحت خطأ و عبئاً في نص فلسطين.
خطأ مطبعي فرقة مستقلة تنتج موسيقتها الخاصة وتحاول عرضها على المستمعين في فلسطين و كافة أنحاء العالم. أطلقت الفرقة ألبومها الاول بعنوان "أول خطأ" في ديسمبر 2016 ، و هو ألبوم روك تكون من 8 أغاني تحاكي الواقع الفلسطيني.
تستمر الفرقة بالعمل على إيصال صوتها مع 4 أعضاء أساسيين وهم :

Italian and Palestinian Cultural Center for Exchange “Vittorio Arrigoni” VIK (Gaza, août 2017)
Lancé en 2011 en mémoire au militant des droits italien Vittorio Arrigoni, assassiné à Gaza dans des conditions troubles et figure de la mobilisation de la jeunesse au printemps 2011, l'Italian and Palestinian Center for Cultural Exchange (VIK) (http://centro-vik.org/) a accompagné en août 2017 la production d'un certain nombre de vidéos de rap.
There is a long history of exchange and support to the Palestinian civilian population of Gaza Strip, as well as dozens of initiatives and continuous demands for participation and mutual cultural exchange among the young generations of these areas of the Mediterranean.
Projects of cooperation and solidarity, made with civilian population living far away and segregated as a result of political decisions and economic divisions.
Many local and italian associations, have accomplished in recent years dozens of cultural and sports projects, to integrate and connect the younger generation, most of which bear the consequences of this isolation, through programs of support and mutual exchange.
One of the projects realized on 2011, is the “Italian and Palestinian Cultural Center for Exchange, which is financed by a consortium of associations, and began a series of activities. The Italian Center, titled to “Vittorio Arrigoni” VIK, has not yet been officially launched, because in his way the preparation of the place, but has already started various initiatives with youngs and Palestinian associations.
In about 365 square kilometers of Gaza (40km x 10km) live longer than a milion and half Palestinians, who depend mostly on international food aid; infrastructure are devastated, unemployment exceeds 50%, while the siege is not released, and shakes the people in a vise.
From ‘establishment of the regime de facto of Hamas until today, the authorities of the occupation and the Egyptian ones, which control the borders of this piece of land, put many restrictions to the passage of goods, as well as the limiting the possibility of movement of persons .
The harsh situation that is exposed the population of the strip, and in particular the new generation of young girls and boys, which is locked and unable to live a normal life and growth of knowledge, is urging support for the development of necessary structure for cultural recreational and sports activities, which are denied by all parties.
The associations that are still in existence and capable of resisting from the closures and denials of local authorities commit themselves to undertake the work necessary to their everyday life under siege.
The sport clubs, the educational and cultural associations, the youth groups, with effort and hardly are trying to organize new activities; they are connected with the wide outside world via internet and they wish to realize what it get nearest to the willing of living. In this way it’s born the proposals and the project of exchange and support between Italy and the Gaza Strip.
The initial consortium for this proposal came from the Province of Rome, who, during the attack on the flotilla on May 2010 that caused the massacre of nine passengers of the Mavi Marmara, voted for a motion / resolution condemning the Israeli military authorities for the accident. The Province assured the creation of an official delegation in conjunction with civil society organizations, to provide support to the people of Gaza, as a sign of solidarity to break the siege. The delegation’s visit took place in April / May of 2011.
The support to the civilian population, that pays disastrous choices, strongly asks the opportunity to live human relationships, and a normal life.
This message comes to us from those who resist and don’t want to disappear; it comes from the Citizens of the civil society in Gaza Strip, that invite people to enter in their country in order to support at least one path that can unite them to the rest of the world.
Purpose of the project:
The project aims to promote and support pathways already activated with local associations and Italian (Municipalities, local authorities, universities, cultural and sports associations) for the implementation of activities to be carried out with mutual exchange between Italy and the Gaza Strip. These pathways include activities very important, such as the ability to meet and dialogue with other cultures through exchanges, participation and implementation of culturale and sport activities for the population mainly young people, male and female, for Media Center develop research and information. This proposal intended to be a continuation and strengthening of these programs already started and conducted in previous years, expanding the co-participation in networks of associations involved in the job in these areas.
One of the projects in 2011 is the “Activity Centre for Cultural exchange Italy – Palestine, funded by a consortium of associations and municipalities, that began a series of activities. The Italian center, titled to “Vittorio Arrigoni”, has not yet been officially opened, because in the interim but has already started with the Palestinian youth activities.
– started and completed the first basic course in Italian language (40 hours) required by the students of Gaza (the inscriptions are ready for the other two sections of a basic course that will start in October);
– the preparation of the Media Center for the realization of video, photography, program and information on life in the Gaza Strip, (a group of film-makers is currently working on a video project and fiction with the youth of Gaza);
– sports exchange activities (in February / March 2012) was made the exchange with the athletes of the Gaza Parkour, (in preparation the exchange from Italy to Gaza and another exchange in Italy for 2013) .

et D.F.A -The Palestinian Break Dance (http://www.myspace.com/dfadupalestaine) parmi une vingtaine d’artistes locaux appelés à présenter leurs créations sous différentes formes : tableaux, installations, sculptures et vidéo-art devant quelque 600 personnes. La Nuit blanche de 2009 fut à nouveau l'occasion pour les groupes rap gazaouis de se produire mais des pressions exercées à leur encontre de la part des autorités et/ou le contexte sécuritaire tendu ont ensuite conduit à diverses annulations ou réductions de programme. En juin 2012, néanmoins, Palestinian Unit se produit au CCF. Le CCF ferme en 2014 suite à une tentative d'attentat et n'a rouvert qu'en 2017.
